At GITEX GLOBAL in Dubai, Vladimir Norov, Chairman of AICA, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing
Uzbekistan's rapid advances in AI and STEM education.
AI has become an integral part of university curricula, with startup ecosystems flourishing thanks to government-backed incubators and accelerators attracting substantial foreign investment.
AI is revolutionizing the fintech sector in the region. In Kazakhstan, non-cash payments rose to 89% in 2024, and Uzbekistan saw rapid growth in online transactions expanding from 8 million to 30 million users between 2018 and 2022. AI drives financial inclusion, reaching remote areas through digital wallets and microfinance platforms.
Despite challenges like data privacy, AICA is confident that AI will position Central Asia as a global leader in fintech innovation and economic growth.
